My Classes

Traveling throughout the greater Portland, Oregon, Vancouver, Washington area gives me the flexibility to teach to a diverse, eccecltic group of sewists. Often times I learn as much from my students as they learn from me! And I enjoy sharing the many projects and problem-solving techniques that I've acquired from my teachings. Each and every student in my class receives as much or as little support as they need, based on their indiviual skill level.

Easy changes to make if you so desire.

Color Work Table Runner - Dec 07, 2016

Gentle curves are cut without a ruler or template then sewn together to create the main part of your project. This may sound scary but you will find it very freeing and surprisingly easy. Small bits of contrasting color(s) are scattered here and there to create interest in the design (I used all black for mine but you could use several different colors if you wish). I used very narrow strips of the fabrics to get the final look that I wanted but the strips could be made wider also (would go together faster!). I think this could make great placemats as well as a table runner; also a great wall hanging.

Cost: $ 40.00

Create hot pads for bowls used in your microwave, the hot pad surrounds the bow1 and has a "lip" on it so that you can grasp to move the bowl from the microwave to the table. Iron Caddy/Diaper Dock - Dec 13, 2016

This tote will hold our iron when you travel and when you're ready to iron. Open this tote and it becomes a convenient pressing surface. Now, when you're ready to go home from your class or retreat, you can place the hot iron on the pressing surface, fold up the sides of the pressing surface, fasten the sides and you are protected from the hot iron. OR you can make a slightly larger one with vinyl coated fabric and it becomes a very handy pad for changing the baby and when not being used as a changing pad it will hold all the supplies needed for changing the baby.

Delectable Quilt - Dec 28, 2016

While this design may look difficult, it is very easy and is a great project to use a Layer Cake pre-cut (10" squares). The quilt is designed to finish at 77" x 90-1/2" (finished block size is 7" x 8-1/2") but I believe it can be made to almost any size very easily - think about making it as a table runner or bed runner. My sample is much smaller at about 47" x 54". This project can also be made using all the same fabric in each block rather than mixing them all up.

Cost: $ 45.00
